Makapuu Lighthouse Hike

I love any moderate paved hikes and since having a baby I have a really good excuse not to do strenuous crazy long-apocalyptic-stairmaster-torture hikes anymore..taking a baby on one of those hikes would be worse than taking them to happy hour with you. Makapuu Lighthouse is ideal for someone looking for a little adventure with a baby stroller..It's about a mile one way and for the first half you have an amazing view of the South East Oahu, Sandy's etc..and then for the home stretch you are rewarded with a sweeping view of the rest of the beautiful East side. The look on Phe's face when he looks at the ocean is the most precious thing..at that very moment I know that my baby was a turtle in his past life and he's lived years hundreds of years before all of us. whoo hoo! Sheraton Waikiki Staycation

When you live in Hawaii, it is really easy to lose sight of things that are so beautiful and so available to us all the time. Summer all year round and the water is always so inviting and warm, so from time to time a little staycation does our soul a good deed in reminding us how lucky we are. Watching Japanese tourists throw up there peace signs next to a palm tree and pina coladas and families frocking around losing their minds over a turtle makes you laugh but also makes you feel really kind of special. I personally love the Sheraton Waikiki. It caters to anyone from a honeymoon couple to a family of 5 keikis. The kiddie pool is paradise for kids with a mermaid to entertain your kids. She even speaks with a British accent (?) Apprently, she takes her craft very seriously..The most incredible sunset can be seen here while sipping on a mojito while hopefully your baby sleeps..zzz. Phe LOVES Kai Market's breakfast buffet. But I think my little fatty takes after dad and loves anything all you can eat.
